VAT Stainless Steel Gate Valve 12144-PA44-0001

In industries where vacuum conditions are critical—such as semiconductor manufacturing, research laboratories...

A VAT gate valve is a specialized mechanical device used to control the flow of gases in vacuum systems. It consists of a sliding gate or plate that either blocks or allows passage through the valve body, effectively isolating vacuum chambers from the external environment or other system parts. Unlike other valves, VAT gate valves are designed to maintain ultra-high vacuum (UHV) integrity with minimal leakage and particle generation.

Key Features of VAT Gate Valves

VAT gate valves are engineered with several critical features that make them stand out in vacuum technology:
Complete Opening of the Cross-Section: Ensures minimal flow resistance when the valve is open, allowing gases to pass through freely.
Low Installation Depth: Ideal for systems with limited space, allowing for compact integration.
Robust Construction: Typically made from stainless steel (AISI 304, 316L), providing durability and resistance to contamination.
Lubricant-Free Design: Prevents contamination and ensures long-term reliability.
VAT Lock Technology: A unique mechanical lock-in system that guarantees reliable sealing without friction at the gate seal, reducing wear and preventing valve failures.
High Cycle Durability: Designed for hundreds of thousands of cycles without maintenance, ensuring extended service life.
Versatile Actuation: Available in manual, pneumatic, and 3-position pneumatic versions with solenoid valve options.
Wide Range of Flange Connections: Including ISO-F, CF-F, ASA-LP/ASA, and JIS standards for easy system integration.

How Do VAT Gate Valves Operate?

The operation of VAT gate valves is based on a sliding gate mechanism:
Opening: The gate slides out of the flow path, providing an unobstructed passage for gases with high conductance.
Closing: The gate moves across the flow path, creating a vacuum-tight seal. The VAT lock technology ensures this seal is achieved without friction, minimizing wear and particle generation.
Actuation: Valves can be operated manually or pneumatically, with options for solenoid valves enabling remote or automated control.
This precise operation is critical in maintaining vacuum integrity, especially in ultra-high vacuum environments where even minimal leaks can compromise processes.
